Who decides what becomes a Superbrand? Not the brand.
Step two of four: 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆?
The first verdict belongs to the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥: 30 business leaders and marketing and communication specialists. Different perspectives, one shared task: to judge every brand on the long list by the same criteria.
For consumer brands, the Council weighs three attributes: Quality, Reliability and Distinction.
For business brands, the Council weighs four attributes: Quality, Reliability and Distinction + Innovation.
Each brand is evaluated from two perspectives: its performance across the overall market and its performance relative to the average of its category.
An important rule keeps the table independent: Honorary Council members abstain whenever brands from their own company or category are evaluated.
That is what gives the verdict its weight: knowledge of the market, and independence in every score.
💬 The full method unfolds in our posts marked in green, every Tuesday.
Next week, step three: the consumers' verdict. ...

With the arrival of Meta One, more and more familiar features can be added to paid packages. According to Meta's announcement on September 15, the Advanced business subscription offers, for example, more advanced publishing, exportable analytics, more detailed audience data and links that can be used in organic posts. According to a report by HD Marketing at the end of September, some Hungarian business Facebook pages have already encountered a limit of two organic posts with external links per month.
Pro: Maybe it's time for brands to be less dependent on a single platform. A website, newsletter, search traffic, and other social channels can all combine to create a much more stable ecosystem.
Cons: Audiences may not necessarily migrate with us. Facebook and Instagram still offer massive reach, mature advertising systems, and a growing number of AI tools. Meta emphasises that the core experience will remain free.
So perhaps the question is not whether we will abandon Meta, but rather: how much do we allow our brand to depend on it?

A Superbrand is defined in six words.
Opening 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 with the question behind every evaluation:
𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒅?
Six attributes, weighed from two sides: the expert's and the consumer's.
Quality, Reliability and Distinction are judged by the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥.
Leadership, Trust, and Dynamism are measured by consumers in research conducted by Ipsos Romania.
For business brands, the Council judges four criteria: Quality, Reliability and Distinction and the fourth, Innovation, joining the code during this edition.
All six answers lead to a single definition:
A Superbrand enjoys an excellent reputation in its field of activity.
A Superbrand offers its customers emotional and significant tangible benefits, in comparison to its competitors, which consumers recognize and prefer.
Living up to this standard is demanding, and these six attributes are where the rubber meets the road for every brand.
Which of the six is the hardest to earn in your category?
We would value your view.
💬 The full code unfolds, one attribute at a time, in our posts marked in blue, every Wednesday.
Next week: Distinction. ...

Every edition begins with a long list.
Step one of four, on the question at the heart of the programme:
𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅?
In more than 90 countries, 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 exists to pay tribute to the strongest brands in each market.
A tribute of that kind has to be earned, so it begins with a method: the globally recognised Superbrands methodology, applied in Romania as an independent evaluation, with research conducted by Ipsos.
The net is cast wide. This edition, the long list holds 2,736 brands: 1,935 consumer brands across 61 categories and 801 business brands across 32. Each of them will be evaluated in turn.
At this stage, nothing is decided, and no brand is a Superbrand yet.
Each will be measured against the same criteria as every other brand in its track.
Superbrands status is a tribute of the highest order, reserved for the brands that meet the standard at every step that follows.
💬 The full method unfolds in our posts marked in green, every Tuesday.
Next week, step two: the people who decide.

𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠 joins Superbrands Romania, Edition XII, in the Consumer brands category. 🏆
Samsung's story begins in 1969, with a brand "born with the ambition to help people achieve the impossible." Since then, by its own account, it has been a pioneer that sees obstacles as opportunities, imagining and creating technology that blazes a new trail, empowering people to do what they can't.
This is legacy at work.
Welcome to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 edition, @Samsung Romania! 👏
Every brand in the programme is first selected through an independent evaluation: a professional review by the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥, followed by consumer research conducted by Ipsos in Romania. Participation is by invitation only, reserved for brands that successfully complete the evaluation.

What can a food brand add to its product? Even more flavour, in the form of an experience.
PICK launched a promotion titled “Get experiences with PICK products!” on September 10 in CBA, Príma, Privát and Privát Max stores. According to the Promoportál and the Web Prize presenting the game, you can participate in the game by purchasing a PICK product participating in the promotion and registering the block.
The prizes include 100 shopping vouchers worth 10,000 forints each and a total of 24 Feldobox Tasting Experience Packages. The latter fits the brand particularly well: according to Feldobox itself, the package offers a choice of 80 different gastronomic programs.
Thus, PICK does not encourage purchase with a prize completely independent of the product, but rather carries forward what the product itself represents: the taste experience.
It's a simple promotional mechanic, yet it contains an important marketing lesson: the prize can also communicate the world of the brand.
If we're giving a gift, why not reinforce the same experience that made the customer choose us in the first place?
